HRH Premier to patronise GCC conference on health system

Manama, Oct. 17 (BNA): President of the Supreme Health Council Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has announced Bahrain's hosting of the first Gulf conference and exhibition under the theme "Developing the Health System: the Gulf Vision on Applying Health Insurance". The event will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at Isa Cultural Centre on November 18 and 19.
Marking the event Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH the Premier for his unflinching support to the health sector in Bahrain and for patronising the conference and exhibition. He also lauded his continuous keenness to give health issues utmost care. He described the conference as one of the kingdom's remarkable initiatives to boost regional and international cooperation in the health field.
The conference is considered the first of its kind on health insurance at the regional level. It will bring together health experts from the region and the whole world to exchange views on implementing national health insurance schemes and managing them.
Keynote speakers will include former United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Director General of the World Health Organisation Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Health Ministers from the GCC countries.
