HRH Premier receives Thai Foreign Minister

Bangkok, Jun. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received, at his residence here, the Thai Foreign Minister, Don Pramudwinai. The Thai minister welcomed HRH the Prime Minister’s visit to Thailand, stressing its importance in opening up new horizons of communication and coordination between the two friendly countries. He lauded the creative economic initiatives and policies adopted by the Government of Bahrain, under the leadership of HRH the Prime Minister, citing its keenness to pave the way for foreign companies to consolidate their participation in the active Bahraini investment scene. The Thai foreign minister highlighted HRH Premier’s successful policies to enhance Bahraini-Asian and GCC-Asian rapprochement, which, he said, will reflect positively on the future development and economic aspects. The Prime Minister extended congratulations to his Thai counterpart, Prayuth Chan-ocha, on his re-election by the Parliament to his post for a second term, wishing him every success. HRH Premier expressed pride in the accelerated steps made to bolster Bahraini-Thai cooperation, which, he said, crowns the keenness of the two countries’ governments to continue constructive cooperation between them. The Prime Minister underlined Bahrain’s interest in enhancing political cooperation, developing economic, trade and diplomatic relations and encouraging investments with Asian countries, including Thailand. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Bahraini-Thai relations have become a role model, as they are based on mutual respect, as well as common understanding of various issues and challenges, highlighting the major role played by Thailand, being an active member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and a country with great political and economic weight in Asia and the world. HRH Premier reviewed with the Thai Foreign Minister ways to enhance the Bahraini-Thai relations in various fields, in addition to issues of common interest. The two sides stressed the depth and strength of relations between the two kingdoms at all levels. They also affirmed the two countries’ keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, to achieve common interests. HRH the Prime Minister appreciated the role played by the Thai expatriate community in Bahrain in supporting the development march witnessed by the kingdom in various sectors, affirming that they enjoy all kinds of care and interest from the government. The Thai foreign minister expressed his country’s appreciation of the efforts being exerted by HRH the Prime Minister to strengthen the Bahraini-Thai relation, hailing HRH Premier’s contributions to establishing exemplary relations between the two friendly countries. He also praised the interest and care enjoyed by the Thai community in Bahrain.
