HRH Premier visits BCCI

Manama, (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa paid a visit to Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to follow up the commercial situation, real estate and industrial activities and the government facilitation offered to business owners in terms of employment permits. HRH the Premier upon arrival at the BCCI was received by Chairman Sameer Abdullah Nass, members and a number of businessmen. HRH the Premier said all legislation and regulations are subject to constant evaluations, they are adjustable when their practical application are proven unserviceable in the direction of serving the interests of citizen or business owners they will be adjusted. HRH the Premier stressed that the government has created an atmosphere of openness, encouraged investors and attracted investments for benefiting the citizens. He pointed out Bahrain’s need for labour to carry on with its development, but in accordance with certain regulations that preserve citizens’ livelihood. HRH the Premier said that the policy of economic openness followed by the Kingdom of Bahrain leads to promoting competitiveness and sustainability, highlighting resolve to set out laws and regulations to serve the homeland and citizens’ interests, as well as reinforcing the investment environment. He attached importance to economic competitiveness, creating suitable business atmosphere and improving laws and regulations to strengthen confidence in the Bahraini business sector, stressing keenness to support the private sector to upscale its competitiveness. HRH the Premier commended the historic contributions of leading merchants to the growth of the national economy, as well as the BCCI’s role in stimulating business movement for the benefit of the economic development. He said the economic challenges currently facing Bahrain need concerted efforts and closely work together to defend the national gains. " Those challenges only increase our determination to bring more prosperity for the people of Bahrain." He added. HRH the Premier listened to ideas of BCCI members on boosting the Bahraini private sector and small traders, in addition to difficulties facing the real estate and aluminum sectors. He also listened to a BCCI initiative on conducting a study on the implications for allowing foreign capital companies to engage in commercial activities of different proportions. In addition to another study on the impact of illegal workers and the flexible permit on the local economy. HRH the Prime Minister said the Bahraini traders are the cornerstone of the development of the national economy, pointing out the government keenness to provide support for overcoming obstacles they may face to enhance their contributions to the economic growth. The BCCI Chairman welcomed HRH the Premier’s visit, saying it reflects his policy of direct dialogue and constructive communication, which also embodied his interest in supporting the BCCI and private sector. He said the visit accentuates the state’s policy of giving the private sector a leading role in the comprehensive development process. He said the BCCI has adopted multiple programmes and projects to interpret the royal directives in the service of the economic vision. He took pride in HRH the Prime Minister’s policy for promoting the private sector’s role in the next stage development process, which also reflects his confidence in the BCCI and private sector in achieving the economic growth and creating integrated partnerships with the public sector, welcoming the support of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the government chaired by HRH the Prime Minister and also the support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
