HRH Premier's sustainable development efforts praised

Liverpool, Oct. 31 (BNA): Director General of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Maimunah Mohammed Sharif expressed thanks and respect to the government of Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, for continuous cooperation with the UN-Habitat. In an international celebration marking the World Cities Day 2018 which was held in St George's Hall, Liverpool, the UK, she expressed deep-felt respect to HRH the Premier for his unflinching commitment to supporting sustainable urban growth and improving the living conditions of needy people by launching initiatives to back local and international development. She affirmed that HRH the Prime Minister has contributed enormously to boosting Bahrain's international status on the map of sustainable development, especially after launching the His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Sustainable Development. She also praised the efforts of HRH the Premier's Court to support strategies aimed at promoting sustainable development in Bahrain. She also pointed out the effective contribution to preparing the kingdom's first Voluntary National Review (VNR) report which was submitted in New York last July.
