HRH Princess Sabeeka Award to be launched on Monday

Manama, Mar. 12 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment will be officially announced tomorrow –Monday- at the UN headquarters in New York. A memorandum of understanding will also be signed by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and the United Nations (UN) Women . Bahrain will attend tomorrow (Monday) the 61st session of the of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the USA. Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa will address the UN panel, on behalf of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW President. SCW Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari will also delivered the address of the Arab Group "Manama Declaration", at the inaugural session, an unprecedented event on the Arab level. The delegation includes SCW Vice President Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al-Khalifa, Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Hala Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari and Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) board of trustees' chairperson Shaikha Haya bint Rashid Al-Khalifa. The delegation also includes Bahrain Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Dr. Bahiya Jawad Al-Jishi, Tamkeen Chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al-Khalifa, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulhussain Jawaheri and journalist Sawsen Ali Al-Shaer.
