HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa hails Bahraini women's achievements

Manama, Nov.30 (BNA): A monument dedicated to Bahraini women has today been unveiled amid celebrations marking the annual Bahraini Women's Day, annually marked on December 1.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), patronized the inauguration of the milestone "Athar".
Addressing the ceremony, she hailed Bahraini women's achievements and access to leading positions, praising their longstanding patriotic stances and role in caring for their families and serving the nation.
She commended institutions and personalities for their contributions to supporting the Supreme Council for Women, congratulating all the prize-winners.
She commended commitment of the UN Women to support Bahrain's efforts in the field of women's advancement, stressing keenness to continue cooperation to achieve common goals and serve women.
During the ceremony the winners of "Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women's Empowerment" have been announced as follows:
-The Office of the Public Defender of the Federal Republic of Brazil for its national program to confront domestic violence by expanding women’s assistance units in the Brazilian state of Bahia to provide emergency protection and empower them economically and socially.
-Private Sector Category: The "De Olivet" company from the Republic of Nigeria, which works on innovations in the field of clean energy to achieve zero waste resulting from the use of firewood as an energy source in rural neighborhoods, in order to raise the quality of life for women and families.
-Civil Society Category: The "Rukungiri Foundation for the Integrated Development of Women" from the Republic of Uganda, a women's organization working to promote the rights and welfare of women and girls exposed to poverty and domestic violence.
-Individual Category: Egyptian Nawal Sayed Mustafa Attia, an activist with a long history in the field of the rights of female prisoners and their children. She seeks through her journalistic work and individual contributions to improve their social and economic conditions.
During the ceremony, winners of the 7th edition of "Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahrain Women's Advancement" have been announced as follows:
-Public Sector (Ministries and official bodies): the Ministry of Health.
-Public Sector (Official enterprises): Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
-Private Sector (Large companies): Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco).
-Medium Companies: Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).
-Small Companies: Export Bahrain.
-Civil Society Institutions: Bahrain Diabetes Society.
-Individuals: Dr. Amal Abdulrahman Al Jowder.
Winners of the fourth edition of the "Young Female Entrepreneur Honour Seal" were also announced as follows:
-Fatima Ibrahim Al Ansari: uses virtual reality technologies to provide engineering designs that keep pace with the principles of sustainability and environmental preservation.
-Dr. Sarra Mo'men Al Reefi has established a specialized center to provide surgical and therapeutic services and early diagnosis of breast cancer in Bahrain and abroad.
-Mariam Abdulrahman Al Mansouri: owner of the first factory in the Kingdom of Bahrain to manufacture innovative plant products.
-Dr. Mai Ibrahim Matar: established an electronic platform that provides high-quality diagnostic services for remote radiological analysis and diagnosis.
-Hessa Falah Al Binfalah: established an engineering project for interior designs that is run by a Bahraini female cadre and whose designs are inspired by Bahraini architecture
-Lulwa Abdulrahman Al Mannai: established a Bahraini brand to manufacture bags using natural leather.
