HRH Princess Sabeeka receives more congratulatory cables

Manama, Feb. 11 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), has received more congratulatory cables on being granted the Arab League Medal and the declaration of Bahrain as Capital of Arab Women in 2017 during the 36th session of the Arab Women Committee at the Arab League, as well as the approval of the “Manama Declaration” in the end of the preparatory meeting of the 61st session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW61). The well-wishers affirmed the importance of the efforts exerted by HRH Princess Sabeeka to support the Bahraini and Arab women, strengthening their role and constant contributions to developing their communities, and consolidating their permanent presence at all regional and international gatherings. HRH Princess Sabeeka received congratulations from the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who asserted that the high-profile honouring reflects the Arab world’s recognition of Princess Sabeeka’s clear contributions to supporting institutional efforts to advance Arab women’s progress, as well as her unwavering support to Bahraini women which enabled them to reach high-level posts. Princess Sabeeka was also Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, "It is a privilege for HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa to be granted the Arab Woman Medal, which is an embodiment of her great role in supporting Arab women, supporting their struggles and pushing towards making them an integral part in the development process in all Arab societies,” Shaikh Khalid said. "We are very delighted with Manama being declared as a Capital for Arab Woman, which reflects on the efforts of Her Royal highness, Wife of the King, in empowering women towards contributing to the development of society,” he added. HRH Princess Sabeeka also received a cable from Royal Court Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who extended heartfelt congratulations and wishes of abundant good health to her. He also lauded the crucial role she is playing to advance Arab women, in general, and Bahraini women, in particular. HRH Princess Sabeeka has also been congratulated by senior officials, ministers, ambassadors, MPs, Shura Council members and dignitaries.
