Hua Hin Resort town prepares for New Year celebrations

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Dec 9 (TNA) -- Prachup Khiri Khan Highway Office in Hua Hin District of Prachup Khiri Khan province is putting up road signs leading visitors to the Ratchapakdi Park to attract more tourists ahead of the New Year celebrations, while planning to implement better traffic management plans to prevent congestion in the heart of the city. Deputy Director of Prachup Khiri Khan Highway Office Arun Yeerong revealed that the resort town would usually see larger number of visitors during festive events, especially during the New Year, which would cause sever traffic congestion in the the city centre. He said his agency then called a meeting with concerned agencies to work out plans to help provide better traffic conveniences, informing that public of alternatives routes that could be used to avoid traffic jams. He noted that commuters would be advised to use the road that runs along the irrigation canal which could be reached via Soi Hua Hin 6 and 10 alleyways to help reduce congestion in the city. In the mean time, the highway district office would also be joining hands with local police officers to appropriately manage the entrance-exit leading into the Ratchapakdi Park, particularly during tight traffics in order to prevent the traffic jams to affect the inner city centre. The office has also put up more road signs, both on the main and secondary roads, to inform visitors of how to get to the park through different routes, so as to allow traffic to spread out to different roads and help to prevent congestion. Further more, the office would then set up a service centre in front of the park to help guide and advise tourists on how to best beat the traffic. (TNA)
