Hugo Boss to increase the number of its shops in Turkey
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 15.02.2011 - The international fashion brand, Hugo Boss, is planning to raise its shops in Turkey to 10 in a couple of years.
Hugo Boss' CEO Claus-Dietrich Lahrs said the company was planning to raise the number of its shops in Turkey to ten in the following two or three years.
Lahrs defined Turkey as an important market for Hugo Boss, and said the brand entered Turkish market with its spring-summer collection in 1989.
The brand opened its first franchise shop in November 1993, and inaugurated its own retail store in 2010, Lahrs said during a meeting in Istanbul.
Lahrs said Hugo Boss had employed more than 3,500 people, including 230 engineers, in the manufacturing facility it opened in the Aegean province of Izmir in 1998.
The CEO said the Izmir facility was producing 4.5 million pieces a year, and once more reiterated Hugo Boss' eagerness to raise its stores in Turkey to 10 by 2013.
Hugo Boss has 10,000 employees and 6,000 stores throughout the world. In 2010, Hugo Boss' net sales were up 11 percent to 1.7 million Euro and its net income was up to 189 million Euro with a 82 percent year-on-year rise.
The brand portfolio covers all the key fashion segments ranging from classic tailored fashions, evening and casual fashion to shoes and leather accessories as well as licensed perfumes, watches, eyewear and children's fashion.
