'Humanitarian corridor’ for wounded organised in Ukraine’s Slavyansk

MOSCOW, June 2 (Itar-Tass) - Agreement has been reached with Ukrainian authorities to evacuate the wounded from the city of Slavyansk, said Yelizaveta Glinka, Russian Civic Platform member and head of the Fair Aid foundation, on her return from a humanitarian mission in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. “People in need of help they cannot receive in Slavyansk are taken to Svyatogorsk and Nikolaevka,” Glinka said. “This is literally a corridor for the sick and wounded. This is a chance to evacuate them.” Glinka said she had not yet discussed the possibility of opening a corridor to send medications to Slavyansk. The issue was under negotiation with the Donetsk region’s health department. “The health department is probably talking to Ukraine’s National Guard, as far as I understand,” she said.
