ICC-NIHR cooperation reviewed

Manama, June 17 (BNA): The Isa Cultural Center (ICC)’s Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s President Maria Khoury. They reviewed the ongoing cooperation between the NIHR and the ICC. Dr. Shaikh Khalid affirmed the importance of boosting the cooperation under the previously signed memorandum of understanding, stressing the significant role of culture in boosting the community awareness regarding human rights and freedoms. He expressed the ICC’s readiness to support the NIHR’s programmes. The NIHR president reviewed the National Institution’s strategic plan, asserting the importance of community awareness in safeguarding individual liberties and rights, as well as involving the ICC in the activation of the NIHR’s initiatives and programmes.
