Illicit drugs seized

BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) -- Three smugglers are arrested while in possession of over 11 million tablets of methamphetamine and nearly 800 kilograms of ice drug in central Thailand. Police announced the drug bust on Friday after arresting the three suspects with the load on their two trucks in Sing Buri province on Tuesday. Deputy national police chief Pol General Chalermkiat Sriworakhan said in a press conference that the trio were stopped at an ordinary police checkpoint in the central province, about 140 kilometers north of Bangkok. With a tip-off, police searched their two vehicles thoroughly and found 11.8 million meth tablets in 59 sacks and 675 kilograms of crystal meth or ice on the 10-wheeler underneath maize, he said. The suspects confessed of having hired as drug couriers for several times. (TNA)
