Indonesians Flock Home Via Ferry For Eid ul-Fitr

PORT KLANG (Klang, Malaysia), June 23 (Bernama) -- Tens of thousands of Indonesians working, studying and residing in Malaysia’s Selangor state will return home via ferry at the Harbour City Asa Niaga International Ferry and Passenger Terminal to celebrate Aidilfitri (Eid ul-Fitr). Asa Niaga chairman Shaari Mat Jirin expects the terminal to be packed with 5,000 passengers daily, in the last two days prior to Hari Raya, at the Tanjung Balai Asahan Jetty and Dumai, Indonesia. “We have prepared 10 ferries to accommodate between 300 and 400 passengers at one go, depending on the size of the ferry…,” he told reporters after distributing ‘bubur lambuk’ (savoury traditional porridge) to the enforcement squad and ferry users on Thursday. -- BERNAMA
