Information Minister: accounts run from abroad to target Bahrain

Manama: July 14 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi cautioned against social media accounts run from abroad, which are seeking to undermine national unity, drive wedges, threaten civic peace and social fabric and subvert security and stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He said that the suspicious accounts, including the “Repentant MP” which features the picture of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, have nothing to do, whatsoever, with HRH the Premier. “The owners of these suspicious accounts are seeking to exploit HRH the Premier’s image and great status among his loyal people, to serve agendas which aim to subvert Bahrain’s security and stability and undermine national unity”, he said. “These desperate attempts to defame national symbols, incite on national unity and threaten civil peace will not achieve their ugly designs”, he said, hailing people’s allegiance to the leadership as well as rejection of false news and baseless allegations spread by these accounts.
