Information Minister: Bahrain adopts noble mission to promote dialogue, human fraternity

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 16 (BNA): Information Minister, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al-Noaimi, today participated in the sessions of the second day of the Global Media Congress, in which UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, delivered a statement marking the International Tolerance Day, observed worldwide every November 16. The Information Minister commended the efforts exerted by brotherly UAE to support and consolidate the foundations of human coexistence and peace as common human values that are essential for achieving security and stability for countries and peoples. He asserted that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom, like the United Arab Emirates, adopts an approach and a noblee human mission to strengthen the pillars of dialogue and human fraternity among the peoples of the world. The Information Minister indicated that the Kingdom has launched many pioneering initiatives in this field through a royal vision that believes that human coexistence, tolerance and dialogue are an essential pillar to support the efforts of countries in the field of comprehensive and sustainable development. Dr. Ramzan Al-Noaimi affirmed that the "Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence", which was held under HM the Kings' patronage, coinciding with the historic official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pope of the Vatican, and that of His Eminence Grand Imam Sheikh of Al Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al Tayyib, the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, as well as the announcement of the establishment of the "King Hamad Global Award for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence", was as a culmination of a series of landmark initiatives stemming from Bahrain's historical and civilised model in the field of peaceful coexistence. The Information Minister praised the speech delivered by the UAE Tolerance and Coexistence Minister today, in which he underlined the importance of the role of media and communication in developing the capabilities of local and international societies to adopt the principles of tolerance and human fraternity, stressing that the nature of the current challenges requires the media to live up to its responsibilities and play an effective and influential role in building a more cooperative and tolerant global society.
