Information Minister congratulates BJA president

Manama, Nov.28 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi congratulated Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA) President Ahdeya Ahmed Al-Sayyed, who has been conferred the fifth edition of the Arab Woman Award. He hailed the award as an honour acknowledging the national press and Bahraini women’s outstanding press and media strides. The minister took pride in the prestigious prize which was awarded to BJA president, as the Kingdom is gearing up to celebrate the Bahraini Women’s Day and the national days. He commended BJA president who became the first Arabian Gulf woman to be elected as member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Gender Council and the first Bahraini woman to chair the press association. He paid tribute to Bahraini women who proved their merit and credentials, holding high-level positions in the public and private sectors, thus deserving national and international awards. He hailed Bahraini women’s standing and honourable presence as partners in the media development and wide-ranging sustainable development. He hailed the efforts exerted by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of HM the King.
