Information Minister to open elections' Media Centre on Friday

Manama, Nov. 22 (BNA): Acting Chief Executive of the National Communication Centre (NCC) and Director-General of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mannai, has stated that the Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, will tomorrow open the Media Centre of the parliamentary and municipal elections, in the presence of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, and Chairman of the High Committee to Oversee the Integrity of the Elections, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa.
Al-Mannai said that the Media Centre will provide all media services related to covering the democratic event in the kingdom, affirming the Ministry of Information Affairs’ constant cooperation with the Executive Committee of the elections and media personnel to ensure the success of the elections.
He stressed that the Media Centre has been provided with all the necessary technical equipment that will allow the media personnel, journalists and correspondents to cover the elections.
He added that the Media Centre includes a press conference hall that is equipped with computers and internet services.
Satellite broadcasting services, in addition to two fully-equipped broadcasting studios to serve correspondents have been provided, he said.
Al-Mannai noted that the Bahrain News Agency has allocated an integrated team of editors, correspondents and photographers to publish election-related news and reports in Arabic and English.
He also indicated that the Ministry of Information Affairs has issued media licenses to local journalists, photographers and accredited correspondents, and invited more than 120 media persons from outside the Kingdom.
