Information Minister participates in Global Media Congress 2022 panel discussion

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 15 (BNA): Minister of Information, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Alnoaimi, participated in the first session of the Global Media Congress 2022 which is being held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, from November 15 to 17 under the theme "Shaping the Future of the Media Industry". The conference convened under the auspices of the UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Prominent international personalities, including intellectuals and media specialists are taking part in the event. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Alnoaimi participated as a keynote speaker in the main ministerial panel discussion on new and future investment opportunities in media from across the globe. Zimbabwe's Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa, and Indian Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Apurva Chandra, also took part. The Minister of Information spoke about the need to know the concept of new media, given that the media field has become widespread. He said that it is also necessary to look at the media in a holistic manner and to invest in this field using modern and advanced technologies. He pointed out the importance of harnessing efforts and resources in predicting the future of the media and preparing for it well, with a focus on engaging the youth in this sector to benefit from their energies and creative ideas. Dr. Al Noaimi affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has gone a long way in handling challenges, pointing out the historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the kingdom at the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also underlined the importance of the visit of Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb. Concerning the influence of technology on the media, the Minister of Information asserted that technology has a positive impact on this sector by providing varied sources of information. He stressed that the media is able to adapt to the new situation, invest in news sources, and deliver the responsible national media message professionally to the world. He underscored the key role played by the media in fostering the values of unity and cohesion in Arab and global societies and renouncing the rhetoric of extremism, division and hatred.
