Information Minister patronizes forum on media, challenges

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi today patronized the first international forum on media and challenges faced by the Gulf. Arab media and academic personalities participated in the event, which was attended by prominent media figures and officials of the Information Ministry. Addressing the opening ceremony, the Information Minister welcomed the Gulf University’s Arab students and guests. He praised the university’s academic and research effort. The minister said the world today does not believe in restricting freedoms, which is a double-edged sword. "We, in Bahrain and the Gulf region, are strongly committed to our identity, values and principles in light of the spread of media chaos." He said. The minister highlighted that such forums provide a good opportunity for the exchange of expertise and introducing visions and ideas to benefit from. He wished the forum success.
