Information Minister receives BFA Chairman

Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi praised Bahrain's success in organising the Asian Football Confederation Under-19 Football Championship thanks to young Bahraini competencies. Speaking at a meeting with Board Chairman of Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, he lauded the association's efforts in organising the continental sporting event, stressing Bahrain's modern and comprehensive infrastructure. He also paid tribute to Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his diligent efforts to develop the sport field in Bahrain. The minister reviewed with Shaikh Ali ways of boosting cooperation in the media field, promoting the sport and youth movement and following up on technical and administrative facilities provided for the media delegations taking part in the coverage of the Asian championship. The Information Minister asserted that Bahrain's hosting of the Asian championship is a confirmation of its distinguished standing on the continental and international sport map. He underlined Bahrain's status as a host of major events, pointing out its historical value as the land of different cultures and civilisations. He also stressed the importance of such events in highlighting the kingdom's tourism and civilisational landmarks as well as its development achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
