Information Minister receives Editors-in-Chief of local newspapers

Manama, Oct. 13 (BNA): Minister of Information Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Alnoaimi has praised the prominent role of the national press in backing the national efforts at all levels. He lauded responsible freedom of expression which has been promoted by the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also commended the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Minister of Information was speaking as he received today the editors-in-Chief of local newspapers. He discussed with them local issues, including mainly the media preparations to cover the parliamentary and municipal elections 2022. He praised the honorable model presented by the national press to cast light on the elections in a professional and journalistic way that puts the national interest above any consideration. He affirmed the growing role of the national press in the upcoming phase, stressing that the national constitutional entitlement will usher in a new chapter of work and achievement. He pledged every support to the national press to enable it to assume its national responsibilities appropriately. The Minister of Information has underlined unflinching keenness to support the national press to help it assume its national and development role by discussing social issues freely, professionally and objectively.
