Information Minister receives former Education Ministry official

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, the Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development, praised the academic and educational contribution of former Education Ministry Undersecretary for Educational and Curricula Affairs Dr. Abdullah Yusef Al Mutawa. The Information Minister was speaking as he received today Dr. Al Mutawa who presented him with a copy of his book (From the Education of the Village to the Education of the State) which is an autobiography casting light on Dr. Al Mutawa's life, academic march and the posts he took up at the Education Ministry until retirement. Marking the centennial of education in Bahrain, Dr. Al Mutawa also presented the Information Minister with another book (What Did the Weekly Star Say?) which documents educational news during the years 1957-1973 according to the news published in the newspaper issued by Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). Al Romaihi thanked Dr. Al Mutawa, lauding his efforts in compiling the books which are considered as an added value to the Bahraini and Arab library and a documentation of a crucial phase in the kingdom's educational march. Dr. Al Mutawa expressed thanks and respect to the Information Minister for the meeting and for his dedicated efforts to develop national media. He also lauded the minister's constant support to national competencies to improve their academic qualifications and take part actively in developing the scientific research movement.
