Initiatives to honour Bahraini doctors praised

Riyadh, June 21 (BNA): Director General of the Gulf Health Council Sulaiman bin Saleh Al Dakhil hailed the decision of the Cabinet, Presided by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to observe Bahraini Doctor Day on the first Wednesday of November every year and allocate an award named after HRH the Premier to honour distinguished Bahraini doctors in medical research and treatment. In a cable sent to HRH the Prime Minister on the occasion, the Gulf Health Council Director General praised the initiative which underscores the important role played by Bahraini doctors to protect people’s health and serve the nation. He described the initiative as an extension of the pioneering role of the Bahraini government in the medical and healthcare field. He noted that the initiative will contribute to further optimizing health services not only in Bahrain but also in the Gulf countries.
