Interior Minister briefed on pan-Arab meeting in Tunisia

Manama, Dec. 21 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr Mohammed bin Ali Kouman, in the presence of the Undersecretary of Interior Ministry, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa. The minister, who is also Chairman of the current session of the council, praised the general secretariat’s role in coordinating the joint Arab security efforts and following up on the implementation of the decisions taken by Arab Interior Ministers. Shaikh Rashid was also briefed on the main issues to be discussed at the Arab Interior Ministers’ meeting to be held in Tunisia in March. Issues to reinforce the Arab security cooperation were also reviewed. Dr Kouman praised the Interior Minister's views on developing the Arab security coordination and cooperation and appreciated the Interior Ministry’s efforts to maintain security and stability of Bahrain. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and the Director of Security Cooperation.
