Interior Minister chairs Bahrain's delegation in Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting

Manama, Mar. 25 (BNA): Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired today Bahrain's delegation in the virtual meeting of the 38th session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council. The event was inaugurated by Saudi Interior Minister HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud, the council's Honorary President.
The Interior Minister asserted in a statement that the Arab security situation requires continued reinforcement of cooperation and coordination within the joint Arab work framework, especially during the exceptional circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic that need joint work and innovative methods to face ever-increasing security challenges out of the common stand and destiny.
He said that the Interior Ministry continues to be a crucial part in the success story of Bahrain in fighting the pandemic through the directives of His Majesty the King, within constructive national efforts led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister through working in frontlines, law enforcement and implementation of preventative conditions. Facing the challenge is part of the system of the protection of security and stability.
He added that the situations and security efforts increase the importance of integrated and cooperative work through exchanging Arab expertise and distinguished experiences to avail of the experiences in managing this crisis and generalise them on the member countries.
The Interior Minister highlighted that the efforts and transformations had enforced cybersecurity rules and expansion in the use of artificial intelligence in security and services.
The meeting's agenda included security cooperation and coordination topics, recommendations of the General-Secretary meetings held in 2020.
At the end of the meeting, the council approved a 10th Arab security proposal plan, an 8th Arab media proposal plan for security and crime prevention awareness, a 7th proposal plan of Arab traffic safety strategy for 2021-2023.
The meeting also approved forming a team of Arab experts to monitor and exchange information about terrorist threats.
