Interior minister participates in sport day

Manama, Feb. 7(BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa participated on Tuesday in the Interior Ministry’s activities to mark the Bahrain Sports Day. Interior Minister hailed this national initiative that promotes sports and their role in reinforcing general health and social safety. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the major efforts of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and the Bahrain Olympic Committee that are chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to enhance sports and youth. He wished for further success through active involvement of sports federations, national clubs and youth centres. Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa also thanked governorates, the Public Security Sports Association and Interior Ministry’s directorates for taking part in sports activities as part of a comprehensive sports programme that includes various sports events and games that were organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in cooperation with sports federations.
