Interior Minister receives Indian Minister of State for External Affairs

Manama, Jan. 14 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has received Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, MJ Akbar.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Interior Minister, Chief of Public Security, Interior Minister Undersecretary, Southern Governor and Indian Ambassador to Bahrain.
The Interior Minister welcomed the guest and the accompanied delegation, hailing the distinguished ties and strong partnership between the two friendly countries in different sectors.
The minister asserted the importance of joint efforts to achieve further regional security and set mechanisms to face security challenges, highlighting the exchange of visits and expertise and the team spirit to develop security cooperation and achievements of joints goals.
He applauded the contributions of Indian community to the beginning of the commencement of Bahrain police and the great roles Indians played, noting that Bahrainis and Indians represent prestigious civilisations that are based on openness and respect of others.
The Indian Minister of State for External Affairs expressed thanks and appreciation toInterior Minister, hailing the historical ties between the two friendly countries that are based on love and peace. He also expressed thanks and appreciation for the care and services provided to Indian community in Bahrain.
The meeting reviewed bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and discussed activation of the joint agreement that aims to enhance the performance of security authorities, in addition to the reinforcement of security cooperation and coordination in cyber security and exchange of expertise and information to serve the best interests of the two countries. The meeting also discussed topics related to security and stability in the region.
It is worth mentioning that the Interior Minister visited India in December 2015 and signed cooperation agreement between the two countries in different security aspects.
