Interior Minister receives NIHR annual reports

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today members of the Board of Commissioners of the National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) led by the President Dr. Abdulaziz Abul. Welcoming the guests, the Interior Minister said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has reinforced the foundations of human rights that were strengthened through legislations to ensure secure and stable society. He praised the NIHR’s role in helping to maintain social stability. The minister was presented the NIHR’s annual reports of 2015 and 2016. He directed the bodies concerned to respond to the points relating to the Interior Ministry. He also affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to promote cooperation and coordination with NIHR. The NIHR president praised the minister for promoting interaction with the NIHR to facilitate the operations of the institute. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs. The Deputy Interior Minister, Inspector General, Chief of Public Security and Interior Ministry Undersecretary attended the meeting.
