Interior Minister receives Saudi Border Guards Director-General

Manama, Mar. 14 (BNA): Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today Saudi Director-General of Border Guards, Admiral Awad Eid Al-Balawi. The meeting was also attended by Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and the Coast Guard Commander, Major-General Alaa Siyadi. Admiral Al-Balawi is the Head of the Saudi delegation on a visit to Bahrain to attend meetings of the joint security committee between the two countries. The Interior Minister welcomed the guest and the accompanying delegation, hailing strong historical ties between the two nations under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He asserted the importance to reinforce cooperation and coordination between Saudi Border Guards and the Coast Guard of Bahrain to ensure marine security and safety. He highlighted equipping the Coast Guard with the latest technological systems, training and facilities to ensure the achievement of goals. The meeting reviewed steps to promote marine safety cooperation and topics of common interest. (MOI)
