International medical team holds its regular meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In conjunction with the 2019-nCoV infection, which is rapidly spreading worldwide, the Ministry of Health organized a consultative meeting on February 7 in collaboration with international organizations running operation in Mongolia.
A total of 27 delegation from 22 organizations including the United Nations affiliated organizations, development cooperation organizations and international humanitarian organizations participated in the consultation.
At the meeting, Minister D.Sarangerel presented ongoing measures in Mongolia while WHO Country Representative for Mongolia Mr. S.Diorditsa provided information on current state of the spread of coronavirus in the world and taking measures. The attendees were also heard information on operations of the National Research Center for Communicable Disease, a national coordinator of International Health Regulations.
In her remarks, Minister D.Sarangerel noted that we are focusing attention on two fundamental directions- preventing citizens from the risk and ensuring readiness of the health sector. In addition, the Government of Mongolia, the State Emergency Commission and other relevant organizations are permanently and promptly delivering information to citizens. In frames of ensuring preparedness of health sector, officials are working towards preparing a special hospital and making its work environment, equipment and devices ready. No cases of coronavirus recorded in Mongolia in this period. Health professionals are carrying out works to detect each suspected cases, isolate nCoV suspected patients and make checkups. Mongolia has large amount of need of protective suits and medical equipment, especially N95 mask to prevent its health professionals from the risk. Other medical equipment are required as well.
