International Youth Congress concludes

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): The International Youth Congress concluded its two-day activities as part of the first International Youth Festival for sustainable development goals (SDGs) held under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the participation of youth from more than 90 countries. Andrew Evans, a journalist, explorer and TV host, talked about his experience with the National Geographic Channel, which allowed him to get closer to problems that pose a threat to wildlife, calling on the youth to develop the skills required to assist the world in facing such problems.  He highlighted sustainability as a protection of next generations, attaching importance to solving people's problems and raising awareness to protect wildlife and marine life. He praised Bahrain’s initiative to host this vital event, calling on the world countries to follow the example of Bahrain to raise awareness of the sustainable development goals. Jamie Woodruff, Europe's number-one ethical hacker, talked about his experience in piracy and electronic security, saying that electronic security has become a necessity in light of the growing importance of technology in life, stressing the significance of implementing electronic safety measures.  Ankit Kawatra, Founder of Feeding India, reviewed his experience in establishing his non-profit organization that aims to eliminate hunger through delivering the large amount of hotel and parties leftovers to those in need. Safaath Ahmed Zahir, Founder, President of Women and Democracy, talked about the importance of gender equality, attaching great significance to women’s economic and leadership empowerment.
