Intl. Holy Quran Exhibition kicks off in Tehran

TEHRAN,July 16(MNA) -- The 20th International Holy Quran Exhibition opened during a ceremony on Sunday night at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla. The ceremony was attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and several officials. The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini and deputy culture minister for Quranic affairs Hojjatoleslam Hamid Mohammadi also made speech during the opening ceremony of the event. The motto of this edition of the exhibition is “Quran, Culture of Awakening” and the event is dedicated a section to the Islamic Awakening. A variety of programs have been planned for the exhibit, in which several Iranian and foreign publishers will be offering their Quranic products, as was reported in a press conference on Wednesday. Several sessions on different topics including Quran and economy, Quran and sociology, as well as Quran and the sciences have been arranged on the sidelines of the month-long exhibit, the report added. Visitors are also getting the chance to have their old texts of the Holy Quran restored or even exchanged for new copies of the Holy Quran at the exhibit.
