Iran’s Araz to perform in Los Angeles

TEHRAN,June 8(MNA) – Araz, an Iranian Azari music ensemble, is scheduled to give a concert at Royce Hall of the UCLA Center for the Arts of Performance in Los Angeles on June 22. A repertoire of songs taken from the group’s latest albums will be performed during the concert, reported the Center for the Arts of Performance on its website. The ensemble is led by singer and accordionist Rahim Shahriari. New Azari and Turkish pop songs composed by Shahriari and several other songwriters will also be performed during the concert. A group is scheduled to perform Lezginka, folk dance originating among the Lezgian people of the Caucasus. A number of foreign musicians will accompany the ensemble in the concert. Araz has given several performances in Iran, Turkey, Germany, France, Sweden and several other countries over the past few years.
