Iran-Egypt Call For Co-op On Hajj Pilgrimage

Ankara, July 31, IRNA -- Supreme Leader’s representative in charge of Hajj Affairs Hoj. Qazi Asgar and Egyptian Mufti Sheikh Ali Jom’e on Monday called for Iran-Egypt cooperation on Hajj pilgrimage.
Asgar who is on a visit to Turkey on an invitation from Turkish Ministry of religious affairs, Dianat, to partake a meeting of Muslim religious leaders in Istanbul, exchanged views with Jom”e on cultural issues and victory of Egyptian Revolution.
Egyptian Mufti welcomed Iran-Egypt cultural cooperation and expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iran on Hajj pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of meeting of the Muslim religious leaders, the Supreme Leader’s representative in charge of Hajj Affairs met with representatives of Tunisia, Jordan and Sudan in charge of Hajj pilgrimage.
The three-day meeting of religious leaders kicked off on Monday is to review regional developments and condem Myanmar Muslim genocide while calling for immediate action of international organizations to stop crimes against humanity in Myanmar.
Hajj officials of Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Russia are among many participants of the meeting which is taking place in Sultan Ahmet and Aya Sufia Mosques and Tupkapi museum in Istanbul./end
