Iran Gives Gifts To Captains Of Foreign Ships On World Navigation Week

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan prov, Sept 29, IRNA – A group of captains of foreign ships anchored at the Martyr Rajaee port in this southern provincial city were given presents Friday evening in a ceremony held on the occasion of the world navigation week (September 24-28).
The ceremony was organized by provincial Ports and Shipping Organization in this southern provincial capital city.
The captains of the ships anchored at the Martyr Rajaee port under the flags of Britain, Taiwan, Panama, South Korea, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Malta, Liberia and Turkey were officially invited to a dinner banquet hosted by the PSO.
The guests were given some presents including Iranian handicrafts and dried nuts.
The shipmasters said they were "surprised" by the initiative made by the Iranian officials as this was the "first time" that they were given gifts on the occasion in a host country.
One of the organizers of the ceremony told IRNA that the initiative was made to demonstrate hospitality of the Iranian nation./end
