Iran to host Azerbaijan culture week in 3 cities

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA - Azerbaijan is eager to hold a culture week in three Iranian cities of Tehran, Isfahan and Ardabil. The Culture and Tourism Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Abolfazl Qarayev announced this in a meeting with Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkman. He referred to the views shared by the culture ministers of both countries to expand ties. “The Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with Iran in implementing joint cultural plans such as preservation and restoration of historical structures, exchange of artistic delegations and exchange of experience in the tourism sector,” Qarayev said. In line with the decision of Iran’s culture ministry and ICRO, the Azerbaijani culture week will be held in the Iranian capital as well as in Isfahan and Ardabil. Torkman also referred to ICRO’s activities outside Iran and said, “Currently we have 80 representatives in 60 countries and this creates good grounds for promoting culture.” Given the two countries’ historical commonalities, it is necessary to undertake joint activities in the cultural, ethnic, historical and religious sectors./end
