Iran-run social media accounts behind threats to poll candidates

Manama, Oct. 19 (BNA): The Director-General of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security announced on Friday that to secure the process of elections, due on November 24, the department had monitored and followed up the complaints by some candidates that they had received threats on the social media asking them to withdraw their candidature. He said that to protect the elections from any foreign interference, the citizens should report such cases through the hotline 992 or via 992@interior.gov.bh The communicated information will be kept confidential.
