Iranian band to give concert with lyrics by Ferdowsi and Rumi in Paris

TEHRAN,May 10(MNA) -- The traditional Iranian music ensemble Eal plans to hold a concert featuring poems by the Persian classical poets Ferdowsi and Rumi in Paris on May 12. The band, led by Sadeq Cheraghi, has selected songs from the album “From Brick and Soil” to perform during the concert. The ensemble aims to develop the Iranian traditional music and the Persian classic poetry through live performances around the world, vocalist Alireza Vakilimanesh told the Persian service of IRNA on Tuesday. The band features Behnam Arjmandi on oud, Rasul Abbasi on kamancheh, Mehdi Tajalli on santur, Morteza Yeganeh-Rad on tonbak, Hessam Tajoddini on daf and Sadeq Cheraghi on ney and balaban.
