Iranian cineastes invited to Batumi filmfest

TEHRAN,Aug.29(MNA) -- Four celebrated Iranian cineastes have been invited to the 7th Batumi International Art-House Film Festival, which will be held in the Georgian city of Batumi from September 16 to 23. Manijet Hekmat, Dariush Mehrjui, Mohsen Amir-Youefi and Abass Kiarostami and Ramtin Lavafipour will be honorary guests of the festival, organizers announced on the festival’s website. Iranian short films “Born of Human” directed by Mazdak Mirabedini and “Blames and Flames” by Mohammadreza Farzad will compete during the festival. Forty features and 40 short films from 22 countries are scheduled to be screened during the event, which has been organized by the Georgian National Film Center, Batumi International Container Terminal, AIRZENA, the Polish Film Institute, the British Councils, Goethe Institute and several other institutions.
