Iranian critics to review “Django Unchained”

TEHRAN,June 20(MNA) -- Iranian critics will review Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” at the Chaplin Hall of the Bahman Cultural Center today. Ramtin Shahbazi, Mehrzad Danesh and Mohammad Reza Moqaddasian will discuss the film and the concept of the savior in Western ideology. “Django Unchained” is a 2012 American Western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson. Set in the antebellum era of the Deep South and Old West, the film follows a freed slave who treks across the United States with a bounty hunter on a mission to rescue his wife from a cruel plantation owner. The review session has been organized by the Tasvir-e Shahr Institute, which is affiliated with the Tehran Municipality.
