Iranian filmmaker to screen doc in support of Afghan refugees in Mazandaran
TEHRAN,May 1(MNA) -- Mani Haqiqi will screen his documentary on life and career of Dariush Mehrjuii in several cities of Mazandaran Province in support of the Afghan refugees in the region.
Haqiqi along with Mehrjuii, actresses Leila Hatami and Niki Karimi and actor Ali Mosaffa will attend the screenings of “Mehrjuii, 40-Year Report Card” in Mazandaran.
The exact dates and places for screening the movies are not defined yet but it will be announce in near future, Mani Haqiqi mentioned in an interview.
Last week, the head of Mazandaran’s Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants’ Affairs Taqi Shafiei announced that Afghan refugees in the province should move to other part of country since they are “threat” for touristic attractions and work market of the region.
It was announced that the Afghan refugees should leave Mazandaran until June 19. Afghan refugees are not allowed to work in Mazandaran.
“We decide to screen the documentary and attend the screenings alongside with Afghan migrants to show our support for them,” Haqiqi mentioned.
Asghar Farhadi will also screen his Oscar-winning film “Nader and Simin: A Separation” on May 11 and 12 in some Afghan schools in Tehran.
The documentary is a visual research attended by several friends, colleagues of Mehrjuii and casts and crew of his movies.
Majid Eslami, Ezzatollah Entezami, Goli Tarraqi, Leila Hatami, Bahram Radan, Khosrow Shakibaii, Bita Farahi, Hushang Golmakani and Ali Mosaffa
The documentary include unseen backstage scenes from Mehrjuii’s renowned film “Hamoon” and scenes from Mehrjuii’s trip to Kashan accompanied by Goli Tarraqi, Dariush Shayegan and Sohrab Sepehri.
