Iranian graphic designer wins top prize at Warsaw biennale
TEHRAN,June 11(MNA) -- The Iranian graphic designer Mehdi Mahdian won a top award at the 23rd Warsaw International Poster Biennale in Poland.
He won the Icograda Excellence Award of the biennale, which is presented by the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda). The prize is awarded to an individual, a team, or an organization in recognition of outstanding achievement.
Mahdian won the award in the Professional Section for a poster he designed for Mansur Gorji’s play “Twin”.
Posters by Iraj-Mirza Alikhani, Reza Babajani and Mehdi Saedi were competing in the section.
Iranian graphic designers Samaneh Chavoshi, Shaqayeq Fakharzadeh and Elham Hemmat submitted works for the Henryk Tomaszewski Golden Debut section of the biennale.
The biennale presents posters created worldwide between 2010 and 2011. The event is organized by the Poster Museum at Wilanów – Department of the National Museum in Warsaw and the Polish Poster Foundation.
The winning works are currently on display in an exhibition at the Wilanów Poster Museum until September 16.
