Iranian, Indian musicians to give benefit concert in U.S.

TEHRAN,April 6(MNA) -- The Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor and two Indian musicians have teamed up to perform a benefit concert for an education campaign in the United States. The sitar virtuoso Kartik Seshadri and tabla virtuoso Arup Chattopadhyay will accompany Kalhor during the concert, which will take place at the Irwin Jacobs Qualcomm Auditorium in San Diego today. Entitled “Rista”, the concert will raise funds for Stay in School, a child education campaign for girls. The concert is organized by the RAGA: RASA, a non-profit organization in U.S. that is committed to the tradition of Indian classical music.
