Iranian manuscript experts to attend workshops in Germany
TEHRAN,July 9(MNA) – A group of experts on historical texts and manuscripts will be attending workshops to be held at Philipp University of Marburg (Philipps-Universitat Marburg) in Germany on July 15 and 16.
Akbar Irani, Javad Boshra, and Mohammad-Hossein Hakim are the members of the group, the Miras Maktoob Research Center, an Iranian institution specializing in the correction and publication of Iranian historical texts, has announced on its website.
A number of experts from Iraq and Germany will also attend the workshops, which have been organized by the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies of the university.
The workshops will focus on methods of studying manuscripts and recent achievements with a glance at manuscripts from Iran, Iraq and Germany.
German-based Iranians scholars Hassan Ansari and Emadeddin Sheikholhokamaii will also be attending the classes.
Osama Naqshbandi and Zamya Muhammad Abbas from Iraq along with Sabine Schmidtke and Cornelius Berthold from Germany are among the other participants.
In addition, several lectures are also scheduled to be delivered during the event.
Irani is due to discuss the role of Iranians in compiling Arabic texts. Boshra will review Persian manuscripts in Baghdad, and Hakim will deliver a speech on the old and new methods used in bibliographies of Persian manuscripts.
