Iranian painter to compete in Beijing biennale

TEHRAN,Aug.13(MNA) -- A painting by the Iranian artist Tara Behbahani will compete at the Fifth Beijing International Art Biennale, which will be held in fall. Behbahani’s “Mass Production” will be exhibited during the biennale. Organizers have chosen the theme of “Future and Reality” for this year’s bieniale, which will begin on September 28. “The theme of the biennale combines the spiritual pursuit of the future with humanistic caring for reality which can fully stimulate the artist’s creative inspiration and provide the free space for artists’ romantic imagination,” the said on the website of the event. Works by over 600 artists from around the works will be put on display. The Beijing International Art Biennale has been developed following China’s accession to WTO and winning the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games.
