Iranian Students’ New Academic Year Begins In S.Africa

Pretoria, Sept 25, IRNA – The new academic year for Iranian students residing in South Africa began here on Monday with a ceremony at Pretoria’s Imam Khomeini (P) School. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic Mohammad Faraji, a number of employees of Iranian organizations in South Africa, the academic staff of the Iranians’ school and students’ parents. After playing the national anthem of the Islamic Republic, the Imam Khomeini School Master Hassan Habibi presented a report on the programs of the school for the new academic year. Referring to the spent efforts, he expressed hope that the academic staffs of the school would be completed in near future. Faraji, too, in his address congratulated the new academic year to the students and invited the parents to cooperate with the school to a greater extent in order to improve the school’s academic performance. Some students performed programs and some sang songs at the ceremony. Pretoria’s Imam Khomeini School enrolls students at the three levels of primary, intermediate and high school. /end
