Iranian submissions for 2012 IBBY Honor List announced
TEHRAN,May 23(MNA) – The Children’s Book Council of Iran has submitted three books for the Honor List of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).
The submissions were selected from the three categories of fiction, illustration and translation.
“Seventh Floor West” by Jamshid Khanian was submitted in the fiction category.
Alireza Golduzian will be competing in the illustration section with his work for “Why Did the Wise Bear End Up Like This?” written by Ali Asghar Seyedabadi.
In addition, Nasrin Vakili will compete for the IBBY Honor List for translating David Almond’s “Heaven Eyes”.
The Honor List is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honoring writers, illustrators and translators from IBBY member countries.
The new Honor List 2012 will be announced at the IBBY Congress in London on August 25, 2012.
The titles are selected by the national sections, which can nominate one book for each of the three categories.
For a country with a substantial and continuing production of children’s books in more than one language, up to three books may be submitted for writing and translation in each official language.
