Iranshahr Theater Complex begins spring performances
TEHRAN,April 7(MNA) -- The Iranshahr Theater Complex welcomed spring 2013 with staging three plays on Saturday.
The plays are “The Contract”, “The Cherry Orchard”, and “The Aurang Trilogy”.
Actor/director Dariush Moaddabian will stage “The Contract”, which has been written by Polish dramatist Slawomir Mrozek.
The play is about an old writer who lives for 15 years in a desolated hotel in Switzerland, hoping to regain his fame.
Moadabian and Kurosh Soleimani will perform the play at the Samandarian Hall of the complex.
Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard” will be directed by Reza Majuni. It concerns an aristocratic Russian woman and her family as they return to the family’s estate just before it is auctioned to pay the mortgage.
Homa Rusta, Reza Behbudi, Saeid Changizian, Dariush Movaffaq, Leili Rashidi and Ashkan Jenabi will be in the cast of play, which will be performed at the Hall 1 of the complex.
The Samandarian Hall is scheduled to host the Iranian play “The Aurang Trilogy”, which will be directed Mohammad Hatami.
The play consists of three episodes and each one will be performed by one actor.
Golab Adineh will perform the first episode entitled “Belqeys’ Mentor”. Alireza Naderi has written this episode, and Payam Dehkordi will play in the second episode “The Shadow”, which has been written by Mohammad Amir Yar-Ahmadi.
The last episode “The Trace of Man” written by Nima Naderi will be performed by Maryam Saadat.
