Islamic World Leadership Seminar by IKIM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) - The past Islamic world leadership is still relevant as reference for the present leaders in facing challenges, said the head of Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM). Its director-general, Prof. Dr. Azizan Baharuddin said books on Islamic leadership, administration, management and strategic thinking had been translated in languages such as English, French, Russian, Turkish and German. "They include the book, Qabus Nameh written by Kai Ka 'us Ibnu Iskandar, the ruler of the Zihariyyah dynasty and the book, Nasihatus Saltin written by Mustafa Ali, the chief financial officer of the Othmaniah empire. "The books are recognised for the universal thinking which is beneficial for the present world leaders," she said after launching a seminar on ‘Strategic Thinking and Leadership Best Practices and the Islamic Model' here Wednesday. Azizan said to better understand the Islamic world leadership model, the seminar which begins today will expose the greatness of the Islamic model to the participants comprising intellectuals and academicians. -- BERNAMA
