BANGKOK, September 15 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says that her Italian counterpart Enrico Letta has accepted her invitation to visit Thailand, with the exact date to be later announced.
Yingluck, who arrived home on Sunday morning, after her eight-day official visits to Switzerland, Italy, the Vatican City and Montenegro, told journalists that Italy has viewed Thailand as a good trading partner and a gateway to the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nation or (ASEAN) and Asia.
During her eight-day European trip, scheduled for September 8-15, the Thai prime minister first visited Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the 24th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and to meet Italian leaders and those of UN and other international organizations.
The Thai leader then visited Italy, the Vatican City and Montenegro, before returning to Thailand. (TNA)
